I guess fish is a recurring theme on the posts right now as we have finally entered the warm time of year . I had an absolutely great time as the weigh master for the second annual “Apalachicola Fins and Family ” fishing tournament yesterday . The weather was not so cooperative but some hardy anglers went for the gusto anyways . Nobody fished the off shore reefs or did any trolling but there was some competition in the freshwater and inshore salt water divisions . I weighed an over 6 Lb. Sheephead , a 5 Lb Trout , a 3 Lb flounder , and in the freshwater fish a 5 Lb Bass and a 1.25 Lb Bream. The venue was The Wheelhouse Restaurant’s new down stairs oyster bar and beer garden located on Water Street along Scipio Creek in Apalachicola . There were 58 anglers and 21 boats this year and as always Sherry Jumonville and John Bone did a fantastic job of creating a fun community event . Thanks for everything and we look forward to next years tournament! Every kid was a winner !
