Last Cold Front?????

Man, I was excited. Boat ready , sand fleas in the bucket ,tides right, new 8 LB. flourocarbon on the reels and fresh sharp Nylures. Sunday my wife and I got up to go get the first pomps of the season and what do we hear in the morning but the dreaded wind chimes . Otherwise known as the “stay in bed” chimes . Like the stupid little kid in the Disneyworld commercial , I was ” too excited to sleep”. Since we have a great boat for rough water bay crossings [a Baycat 19 Twin Vee ] we decided to see if we could salvage the morning perfect tides and went for it .Well it was blowing, the water was dirty, and the Coast Guard helicopter was already on a rescue for some weekend warriors with little sense . So of course we decided to try to catch something , and proceeded to go for Sheepshead and Redfish . We anchored outside the jetty on the lee side . Things were slow . And bouncy . But with typical perseverence Anita hooked into a very nice sheepy , and I caught a slightly short, but still fun redfish . We tried the drift in the cut again with another tide change . This was going to be it , I just knew it .The best conditions of the day . Anita again on the big sheepshead , which unfortunatly released itsef at boatside . Then it was a big zero . But we had fun ,caught a couple in very adverse conditions , and were home by noon . Still better than working .
